Depot injections in psychiatric care including; rationale, 'typical' and 'atypical' depot injections, storage requirements, side effects of antipsychotic depots and assessment tools, four injection sites considered, risk reduction from human error when administering depot injections, calculations of depot injections using appropriate formula method, handling newer generation depot injections and older generation ampoules, Z track technique, and land marking for injection sites
There will be an additional half an hour at the end where the trainer will stay for any additional questions/discussions.
