About the event

This course is designed to help professionals provide more inclusive, person-centred care. The course covers supporting people with learning disabilities and autism, making reasonable accommodations, carrying out medication reviews and annual health checks, and understanding the SEL STOMP initiative to reduce unnecessary pyschotropic prescribing. Through real-life case studies, participants will gain the confidence and tools to improve care for people with learning disabilities and neurodiversity.

Course Objectives

This session aims to provide:

  • Information on learning disabilities and autism, and on accommodations that can help support your patients.

  • An introduction to running medication reviews and annual health checks for people with learning disabilities

  • Awareness of STOMP (Stopping the Over-Medication of People with a Learning Disability, Autism or Both) and of the STOMP team in SEL and how we can support you and your patients
