This short course provides IPC Leads in General Practice with a clear and practical understanding of their role. It explores key responsibilities, essential tasks, and role boundaries, as well as highlighting what falls outside the IPC Lead’s remit. Participants will also be guided to useful sources of further support and information to help them succeed in their position.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Describe the purpose and expectations of the IPC Lead role in General Practice.

  • Identify the key elements and essential responsibilities (“must-dos”) of the role.

  • Recognise the limits and boundaries of the IPC Lead’s scope of practice.

  • Locate and access appropriate sources of further guidance and support for IPC Leads.
